You may know that the McCain Campaign had a contest to see who would get the special privilege of riding The "Straight Talk" Express. One lovely couple received the honor, by donating money to Senator McCain and winning what must have been an exciting contest.
Below is the letter they sent to the campaign to thank them for this honor, sent out via email by McCain Campaign Guru/lobbyist for Ukrainian Strongmen Rick Davis:
Dear Rick,
Thank you and everyone involved for both putting together the contest and for the wonderful time that Elliot and I had on the bus! We are still very inspired and overwhelmed by the time we spent with Senator McCain, his family and staff. They were all very gracious and made us feel like we had known them for years [ED: What stinkin' temper?]. We have a new understanding and an increased appreciation for what political candidates go through on a day to day basis. The schedule is grueling. Senator and Mrs. McCain do it with grace and make it look easy . . . but it is not [ED: Really, he is in great shape, even though he is 137 years old!].
When we finished at the luncheon, we went back to our hotel and took a nap. I am a seasoned nurse and thought I had a lot of stamina, but I was drained [ED: McCain has the strength of 1000 lions!]. We have both told many people about our experience and what a personable, hard-working, and good-humored person Senator McCain is [ED: Again, what temper are you talking about?]. We have been John McCain supporters for many years and will be doing our best to work at the grassroots level [ED: Among those who can only bundle 50K] on his behalf until he is elected as our next president in November.
Again, thanks and best wishes to all for the awesome [ED: We use "hip" words, we're not that old like most McCain supporters!] time.
Sincerely,
Vivian and Elliot
