You may remember that yesterday I shared the transcript of a recording of McCain supporter and Constitution-subverter Ollie North speaking at Rod Parsley's church just outside of Columbus, Ohio. North portrayed our efforts in Iraq as a crusade, with Christian soldiers killing non-believers and protecting their women, presumably from the uncivilized behavior that only exists among Muslims.
Parsley seems at his best when compares a war against Islam abroad to a war against secularism at home. They are both equal in importance to him. Which begs the question, should violence be used against the "secularists" at home here if they are as grave a threat as those attacking our troops abroad? And is it "rabid Islamo-fascism" (whatever that means) we are fighting in Iraq, or people who once stood with us but now have lost their jobs, or family members or hope to an occupation and absolute failure to plan for the post-war period by George W. Bush? Just wondering.
Without further ado, we have Part 2, Electric Boogaloo: The Parsley Speech:
I'm urging you to battle. To battle a warfare on mindsets when worldviews collide, nations hang in the balance. It’s a war of mutually exclusive ways of viewing the universe.
One is abroad and one is at home. Now the former is with Rabid Islamo-fascist ideology. Our enemy is not terrorism. Terrorism is s a method used by our adversary. The reality is that we are fighting a war today around the world, a global war, with rabid Islamo-fascism . . . it’s animated by global terrorism. It’s a war of mutually exclusive ways of viewing the universe. It’s a clash of paradigms of value systems, of visions of the future. Now I have one question for you: Will we fight? Will we fight. One more time. Will we fight?
Will we sit quietly by . . . and watch as our nation follows Europe’s slide into the deep dark night of post modern, post Christian paganism?
The long anticipated collision between secularism and Biblical Christianity is well underway.
We do not seek to kill our adversaries but to win them. It is the terrorist that operates by coercion. Not the Christian. We’re in nothing more than the 3rd great awakening. There are those on the other side the absolutely despise everything about us.
America is engaged in 2 wars. One is abroad and one is home one is with rabid Islam Fascism. The other is where we wrestle with ourselves. Lieut. Col. North is actively engaged in both of these struggles. He is an ardent defender of Truth.

Parsley’s partially right. The threats to this country are Muslim and Christian extremism that marginalizes the moderate middle. Parsley is no better than the Ayatollahs who use religion to build their power bases.
What an ass.
From one Christian to another, I gotta ask Pastor Parsley this. Is this kind of talk life-giving?
I would also like to state the obvious: this country was founded on freedom of religion precisely because of the persecution happening elsewhere in the world. But I suppose history is as suspect as science now, eh?
Look, Jesus was OK, but he was a little soft.
Guys like Parsley are helping toughen up Jesus’ image. You know, for his own good.
Stephen Colbert interviewed a lobbyist for Bradley’s Gun Control organization and thought Jesus would definitely benefitted by packing some heat. Hilarious.
